JAKARTA - The 3rd annual Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Partnership (SISP) Week was held on December 5th and 6th, hosted by Team Sweden (consisting of the Swedish Embassy in Jakarta, Business Sweden, and the Swedish Energy Agency). Guided by the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, the conference focused on promoting sustainable initiatives in the fields of energy, transportation, industry, and healthcare. The conference featured over 20 panel and focus group discussions, as well as signing ceremonies between Swedish and Indonesian stakeholders committed to driving sustainability efforts and pioneering the possible.
On Innovation Day, three themes were selected for collaboration: mobility, industry, and healthcare. This included cross collaborative sessions on unlocking innovation for sustainable economic development as well as the role of digital technology to increase Indonesia’s productivity and competitiveness. Through SISP, Sweden can assist Indonesia in promoting innovation by sharing knowledge and expertise, providing funding for research and development, and collaborating on innovation initiatives. Swedish companies can also support the growth of the local innovation ecosystem and help Indonesia to develop its digital infrastructure and capabilities, enabling the country to better compete in the global economy and drive innovation in a range of industries.
Within the mobility theme, industry leaders in the transportation industry shared knowledge on collaboration to build resilient electromobility systems in Indonesia, how to stir innovative solutions in electric BRT and create integrated charging infrastructure, and how Swedish companies can enable the success of such transportation solutions. Industrial themes included a variety of stakeholders within industry, from construction to manufacturing, where central topics such as green financing for sustainable manufacturing and economic growth were discussed as well as how Swedish companies can support the growth of Indonesia’s industrial sector, including within Special Economic Zones. Lastly, the healthcare theme included a plethora of pharmaceutical and healthcare pioneers, where stakeholders discussed how to strengthen Indonesia by building on healthcare industry resilience and fostering new innovations for hospitals, for instance through accelerating digitalization.
